Status review procedure

Article-status labels must represent an editorial review of a specific revision rather than article length, citation quantity, template usage, or automated scoring.

Reviewed

A reviewed revision has been checked for readable structure, obvious factual or formatting problems, functioning references, appropriate categories, and basic policy compliance.

Verified

A verified revision must meet reviewed requirements and have its significant real-world claims checked against appropriate sources. First-party sourcing, conflicts of interest, disputed claims, and biographical claims require particular care.

Featured

A featured revision must meet verified requirements and demonstrate strong completeness, writing, navigation, illustration, accessibility, citation health, and maintenance readiness.

Required review record

A review record must include:

• the exact article title;
• the exact revision ID;
• the assigned status;
• the reviewer’s name;
• the review date;
• a concise summary of what was checked.

Editing an article after review makes its previous review record stale until the new revision is checked.

Automated checks

Automated checks may identify broken references, missing categories, thin coverage, raw URLs, or weak internal linking. They may not assign editorial status by themselves.

Revocation and correction

An article should be removed from a status category or re-reviewed when citation errors, unsupported claims, copyright concerns, serious neutrality problems, or major post-review changes are discovered.
