Deathwave 47
Deathwave 47 is a fictional engineered fighter in Tribal Bloody Beginnings: The Rise of the Dark Alpha by Tony James Nelson II. Doctor Polezah identifies him as the completed example of the Deathwave project. The Dark Alpha later sends him to retrieve Reonniz from Terra, provoking the novel's final confrontation.[1][2][3]
Identity and conditioning
Deathwave is a project designation shared by different subjects. Thirty-Two initially confuses a file about number 47 with the young fighter accompanying Alpha. Polezah explicitly corrects him: the boy he has met is Deathwave 201, while 47 is the completed subject. Thirty-Two himself was an unsuccessful candidate, repurposed by an earlier doctor.[4][1]
The distinction separates documented identities from the narrator's early impression. The fighter who catches a council member's knife, protects the Proctor in the alley and fights Khalembo at the Training Tower is 201. Those events do not establish previous victories or defeats for 47.[5][1][6][7]
The accounts of childhood conditioning and time in the program contain inconsistent age markers. They establish prolonged captivity and engineering, but do not support a single exact birth date. Polezah's description of perfection is his assessment of the project, not proof that the completed fighter cannot be injured or defeated.[4][1][3]
Appearance
At his deployment, 47 wears black armor and carries numerous weapons. His red cape has a hood, unlike the presentation of 201 earlier in the book. His hair is cut in a short fade. His measured movements, controlled speech and readiness to obey distinguish his introduction from the younger subject's attempted politeness.[3]
Mission to Terra
After the First Conri Tora is removed from Kavumo, the reunited ruling group plans to recover Reonniz. Alpha chooses a single operative instead of an army, intending him to travel through the Dark Forest and reach the boy before Nim’Raza can intervene. The order permits him to kill anyone who obstructs the mission.[2][3]
The siblings and Thirty-Two learn of the deployment and hurry toward Terra. Sakori encounters the aftermath of killings along the route before facing 47 near the plains. The operative blocks Sakori's attacks, severely injures him and prepares to kill him.[3]
Confrontation with the family
Zinetha intervenes because Sakori spared her during the invasion of Gia. Deathwave breaks her wrists, and Khalembo then enters the fight. Although Khalembo increases his declared output to one hundred percent, 47 blocks his attacks and wounds him. He claims to have observed Khalembo since the boy was nine, using that knowledge to attack his fears as well as his body.[3]
This is the completed fighter's confrontation with Khalembo. It is separate from the Training Tower fight in which Khalembo overpowers 201. The two scenes compare different engineered subjects against the same opponent.[7][3]
Eshari initially holds 47 in a stalemate. Thirty-Two's healing spell restores injured allies, allowing Rimitorry, Sakori, Khalembo, Zafira, Eshari and Zinetha to attack together while the Proctor uses spells. They draw blood but cannot end the fight. The operative remains vulnerable to coordinated attacks even while overcoming most of them.[3]
Nim’Raza and the failed extraction
Nim’Raza arrives with Razhaku and decisively overpowers 47. She wounds him repeatedly and places a blade at his throat, then leaves the final decision to the younger fighters. Her intervention shows a limit to the Doctor's completed weapon.[3]
Thirty-Two opens a portal to Alpha's throne room. When 47 tries one final attack on Sakori, Zinetha takes the wound in her shoulder and throws a dagger into the operative's chest. Eshari kicks him through the portal, driving the dagger deeper. He lands wounded at Alpha's feet.[3]
Deathwave 47 remains alive at that point. Reonniz has not been extracted, Nim’Raza maintains Terra's defense, and the younger group survives. The book ends with the conflict unresolved rather than with the completion of his retrieval order.[3]
Relationships
Polezah treats 47 as the benchmark for the Deathwave line, while Alpha deploys him as a weapon of authority. His connection to 201 is institutional rather than a confirmed family relationship. No supplied passage identifies him as Tia Washington's younger son or as Reonniz.[1][3]
For Sakori, Zinetha and Khalembo, the encounter exposes the danger of Alpha using engineered fighters against his own household. Their attempts to protect one another place personal bonds in conflict with the operative's obedience to the retrieval order.[3]
