Alpha (Tribal Universe)
Alpha is a senior ruling title in the Tribal Universe. In Nebu, the Alpha exercises authority over law, war, succession and the den's household. The Dark Alpha is the current holder in the adult narrative of Tribal Bloody Beginnings: The Rise of the Dark Alpha. Kavumo separately becomes Alpha of Terra.[1][2]
Nebu's succession
Nebu's Calling selects three survivors as a ruling team. Its Alpha bears the inherited name Conri Tora, while the other winners become Bote and Commander. Eshari: Daughter of the Dark Alpha shows the Dark One receiving the name Conri Tora the Thirty-Fourth. The name's original bearer, First Conri Tora, is a distinct entity rather than an alternate life stage of the current ruler.[3][4]
Before the Dark Alpha destroys it, the Council of Wolves shares half of Nebu's governing authority. His elimination of the council changes that political arrangement. The title itself does not mean that every holder has the same personality, powers or family.[5]
Differences between tribes
The Callings vary by tribe and vacancy. Kavumo's Terra Alpha contest is described as nonlethal, while Nim’Raza's later-described Commander contest permits lethal victories and surrender. Gia's ruler is Queen Utrea; the goddess Gia explicitly distinguishes her queenly title from the Alpha terminology used elsewhere.[2][6][4]
Nebu also uses the designation “female Alpha” for Oshira's position. That household role should not be collapsed into Utrea's independent sovereignty in Gia. Oshira's concealed intelligence work further makes a purely ceremonial description incomplete.[7]
Power and identity
The current Dark Alpha describes different levels of released Ka’ru during combat, including a full-power state in the assault on Gia. These are character-specific declarations in a particular battle. They are not an automatic numerical scale for every person who holds an Alpha title.[8]
