Tashara Sorn is a fictional antagonist in Eshari: Daughter of the Dark Alpha. A former levy captain, she exploits Yanna's disappearance by presenting herself as Yanna Red-Ash Returned. Her rebellion depends on appropriating a survivor's name and the memory of Halvek.[1]

Earlier service

Tashara previously serves at Keth Ruun. She loses her position after hanging twelve workers over a false charge concerning grain. That history distinguishes her from the person whose identity she later claims and provides a background of coercion preceding the rebellion.[1]

Impersonation and rebellion

The disappearance of Yanna after the causeway battle creates an opening for Tashara. She presents her assumed identity as a return from death and uses it against the Ka’Rukan Empire. Dhar Veyra, a settlement associated with a crater of black glass, rivers and mills, becomes the movement's center.[1]

Eshari and the real Yanna act against the movement. Their response includes campaigns that take resources, fighters and dependants from communities and punish opposition. The confrontation therefore occurs within the empire's continuing use of conquest, not outside its political history.[1]

Defeat

The real Yanna confronts and kills Tashara. The episode establishes that the returning rebel figure is an impostor, while Yanna herself is alive and recovering a public role. References to Tashara's movement cannot be treated as proof that Yanna personally leads that rebellion.[1]
